Campbells Bay Tennis Club

Campbells Bay Tennis Club is one of the leading tennis clubs on the North Shore. We were honoured to be awarded 2023 New Zealand Club of the Year, 2023 Tennis Northern Club of the Year and 2024 Harbour Sports Club of the Year. This year our Men's Chelsea Cup team secured the trophy for a fourth time, in what is the North Shore's elite tournament. Located within Centennial Park in Campbells Bay, we have around 450 members across a range of ages and ethnicities and more than 150 non-members in coaching programmes. We have many visitors through casual play and interclub, as well as the community walking through the beautiful Centennial Park. Our mission is to bring together our community to foster a love of sport, build and maintain friendships, and improve the overall fitness of our local community. As such, the Club provides a busy calendar of events to its members and casual visitors alike. This includes club sessions for Seniors, Mid-Week Ladies and our Junior Club Night. We have major interclub commitments and an extensive adult and junior coaching programme available for both members and non-members. The clubhouse is promoted to the local community as an events venue. Campbells Bay Tennis Club and The Game work in partnership to provide our members with great coaching opportunities. The Game, formerly Kiwi Tennis, is a professional tennis coaching team focused on the fundamentals of tennis. Founded to provide a complete programme for tennis players of all ages and abilities, The Game's goal is to help members and non-members master the essentials of the game in a simple and effective way. Our committee of 13 volunteers is continuously looking at new initiatives to retain and attract members. This year we have introduced an Adults' Beginner Social Session on a Friday that non-members can also join for a casual fee, and in-school coaching sessions at Campbells Bay School. Initiatives like this will help grow our membership in the coming years to ensure we are financially sustainable part of our community.

How your support helps us

In a competitive market it is important for us to create a welcoming, comfortable and safe environment to both attract new members and retain existing members. Like many sports clubs we operate on a very tight budget. This was further exacerbated by Covid-19, and more recently, a decline in the ability to access grant funding. Our sponsors help us maintain our facilities to ensure everyone who plays at our club is safe. Over the past five years we have resurfaced all courts, installed LED lighting and this year we have renovated both bathrooms. This would not be possible without the support of our sponsors.
