Located at the Michaels Avenue Reserve in Ellerslie, Auckland, the Michaels Avenue Community Centre (“MACC”) is operated by the Ellerslie Sports Club, an umbrella organization that has, as its members, the Ellerslie Association Football Club (“EAFC”) and Ellerslie Cricket Club (“ECC”). The Centre serves primarily as a community based sporting and recreational hub for the Ellerslie and surrounding catchments. However, since its completion in Sept 2023, the Centre has become a focal point for wider community usage and involvement as cultural groups, business​/​regional organizations and private individuals come to appreciate the quality of the facilities, ambience of the Reserve and easy carparking within a central location. Featuring a high-quality artificial football turf, meticulously maintained football and cricket pitches, and modern shared meeting facilities, the venue provides an excellent amenity that has previously been lacking within the immediate catchment. Generating exceptional year-round foot traffic through its dual-code use, as well as extensive community use, the Centre presents a high-volume, premium physical footprint to reach active local families in Ellerslie and adjacent suburbs spanning the central suburbs.

Activity & Timing

Activity is consistently high year-round due to the seamless transition between winter football and summer cricket. Peak utilisation occurs during intensive mid-week evening training sessions and massive, all-day weekend fixtures. In addition, the times between 9am-4pm on weekdays have become increasingly used by business and cultural groups.
