Unlocking New Revenue Without the Cold Calls: A Win for Campbells Bay Tennis Club

We recently caught up with Tash Bartlett from Campbells Bay Tennis Club just after they secured their latest sponsor, Parkes Architecture, to learn more about their experience with Rectangle.

Campbells Bay, like many volunteer run clubs, faced the universal challenges of relying on volunteers and the difficulty of securing consistent grant funding. Tash shared how Rectangle provided an essential bridge to successfully securing advertising sponsors.

The Challenge of Volunteer Run Clubs

"For clubs run by volunteers, everyone is short on time," Tash explained. "It's difficult to go and cold-call or send out cold emails looking for sponsorship - it's not everyone's cup of tea."

Furthermore, Tash noted the increasing struggle for community sports clubs. A sinking lid on pokie machine licenses and increased demand mean funds are getting harder to secure. Additionally, a swing toward casual play over committed memberships makes it very hard for clubs to budget for essential maintenance and future growth.

This reality makes finding sustainable revenue sourced from advertising and sponsorship more critical than ever.

Finding a Solution with Rectangle

Tash described the initial setup as a straightforward decision for the club with immediate benefits. She mentioned that the platform immediately helped the club overcome its biggest hurdles by providing clear prompts to build listings with a clear value proposition for advertisers. The impact was felt almost immediately through the use of custom signage; a provided QR code linked a potential sponsor directly to the club’s new online offering, accelerating the process from interest to agreement and securing a new partnership for the club within a single week.

Tash's Advice: Looking Beyond the Committee

“You don't need to be restricted to look for someone on the committee to manage your Rectangle profile, listings and lead conversion. You can identify people within your club who are happy to help on a project basis. maybe someone with an interest in sales and marketing, or someone who's keen to learn and try new things who would be happy to use that skill set for this one area of work, rather than signing up to the committee for a fixed term."
